[Soya's Personal Experience] Aurora Borealis, Arctic Circle Visit, Century-Old Hot Springs - This Alaskan Trip Was Completely Extravagant!

Soya's itchy hands plan: Alaskan Northern Lights experience 1

Some trips are "just a one-time experience," but others will make you keep telling your friends, "You absolutely have to go!" Popular creator Soya went to Alaska with Sky Horse's seven-day, six-night winter aurora tour. When she returned, she was still not fully awake, not because of jet lag, but because the scenery was so beautiful and breathtaking that her mind was still replaying it.

👉Here, watch Soya's first Alaskan aurora experience.

Fairbanks first night: the aurora borealis, it really was dancing!

Soya's itchy hands plan: Alaskan Northern Lights experience 2

Before setting off, Soya had mentally prepared herself, having heard that Fairbanks winters could reach -30 degrees Celsius. However, upon arrival in late September, the temperature was only around 0 degrees Celsius, which actually brought her some relief.

On their very first night, they were immediately on an aurora chasing tour. Sky Horse's guide drove the group to a location with few clouds and low light pollution, where they waited patiently. Initially, all they could see with the naked eye were countless stars and faint halos of light, and everyone held their breath. Unexpectedly, at midnight, the aurora suddenly "exploded"—not slowly drifting across the sky, but truly dancing rapidly, like someone had turned on a neon light in space. Soya's immediate reaction was to stand there dumbfounded, forgetting to take pictures. (In the end, they did manage to capture some, and even a rare and beautiful red aurora!)

Soaking in century-old hot springs and walking huskies—that's what Alaskan daily life is all about.

The day after chasing the light, the itinerary didn't slacken at all. During the day, they went to soak in a natural sulfur outdoor hot spring with a history of over a hundred years. Soya said that the contrast of soaking in the hot water in the sub-zero air was really hard to describe in words, and could only say that "half of life was instantly fulfilled."

In the afternoon, we had a dog sled experience. Although we couldn't pull the sled because there wasn't enough snow at the time (Alaska usually gets plenty of snow after October), just the close interaction with those energetic Alaskan Huskies was worth the price of admission.

Challenging the "Death Road," officially becoming an "insider."

On the third day, Sky Horse arranged something many people put on their to-do list but never did: drive on the Dalton Highway, also known as the "Death Highway," heading north into the Arctic Circle.

With no cell phone reception, bumpy roads, and endless wilderness outside the window, Soya said that the five-hour drive made her suddenly understand the phrase "the ends of the earth." Along the way, they could also see the 1,286-kilometer-long Transcontinental Pipeline, a truly spectacular engineering feat.

Finally, she stood in front of the Arctic Circle marker at 66°33' North latitude, signed her name, took photos, and officially declared herself an "insider".

Sky Horse's 7-day, 6-night winter tour of Alaska includes aurora tracking, cultural experiences, and an Arctic Circle expedition, with transportation, entrance fees, and a Chinese-speaking guide included. Soya's firsthand impression can be summed up in one sentence: "With Sky Horse, you can be a carefree traveler without any worries."
